    写得像小说一样,类似于遇见未知的自己,可读性强。第二章就是解读房树人测验的表格,还是较为详细的。这本书既可以读来玩,也可以用于实际操作。

I highly recommend this well-organized, very practical book to all event planners

    · Designing and producing an event - whether it be a meeting, corporate event, fundraising gala, conference... other special events - has been compared to directing a movie but is actually more like a live stage production. Think of a special event as a live play; there are no retakes, so plan ahead.

    · Being organized and paying close attention to detail are two of the most important elements of running a successful event.

    · Successful event planning is the culmination of many steps, including accurate record keeping, extensive planning and precise execution.

    · The first steps in planning your event are establishing its purpose and budget.

    · Prepare a detailed preliminary budget, including every possible item or service. Even the smallest event requires a serious financial commitment.

    · The best approach to planning is to visualize the event from the guest’s perspective. Try to envision your event from beginning to end. You need to be able to do a complete preliminary visual walk through in your mind.

    · It is not enough to simply invite the media to your event and leave them on their own. You have to know what they need and make special provision for them.

    · Use the calendar to plan the event and work backward from the event date to allow enough time for all preparations.

    · Write everything down, including the names of key suppliers, their contact information and prices.

    · Always get written contracts from key suppliers, especially caterers, so you know exactly what is expected.

    · One of the first rules of event planning is not to accept ’no’ for an answer. Be prepared for any contingency. Have backup plans for every detail.

    · Never forget that there is a psychology behind everything that you chose to do that extends well beyond what you are serving your guests at a particular meal.

    · An event’s location is critical to its success. Location is more than an address.

    · After the party is over, relax. Take in the feedback. Your last task for each event is sending personalized thank you notes or gifts. Finally, clean up the files you accumulated. Put everything into a single envelope and label it, so that you can build on the success of this event when you plan the next one.
