five times, and his participation in the deadlocked election of

David S. Heidler and Jeanne T. Heidler have written numerous

scholarly books and articles dealing with the history of the early

American republic, the Antebellum period, and the Civil War. David

Heidler is associated with the Department of History at Colorado

State University-Pueblo, and Jeanne Heidler is professor of history

at the United States Air Force Academy, where she is the senior

civilian member of her department. The Heidlers live in Colorado

Springs.

  因为在看《宇宙有道理》，觉得这本会比较适合，确实非常适合。我们新闻中看到的一些对于太阳系各大行星以及卫星的探索，知名的就是那几个，但是实际的情况是很多计划要经过十几年二十几年的准备，从命名就能看出来从1一直往后排，排到二十多都是很正常的。比如已经发射的韦伯望远镜，其实这个望远镜的计划时在哈勃望远镜发射之前一年就已经确定了。天文研究方面的计划，不是一年两年考虑，而是要提前几十年考虑。

  美苏冷战的时期，是天文探索进步最快，经费最充足的时刻，借着军事研究的便利，人类第一次登上了月球。国际空间站计划是在苏联解体之前就有了，苏联没了之后，各大巨头觉得确实是太烧钱了，还是得大家一起出钱才行。

  以前的观测都是靠人眼靠人工的计算，往后的设备更大更高功能更全面，人负责的更多是一种设想，如何让一次飞行任务的花费更小，去的地方更多。古代几百年才发现几十颗卫星，现在派个探索器过去，现场观察，随随便便一颗行星就能增加好几个。

  人类实在是太孤独了，生物的存在需要水源和光源，人类在太阳系里，在太阳系外，在陨石上寻找生命的痕迹。外星生命肯定是存在的，我们的基因可能也有外星成分，只是我们不知道他们到底在哪里？是什么形式存在？现在在哪一个阶段？

  太阳还能有50亿年的寿命，对太阳是，但是对地球其实不是。再过10亿年左右，太阳的温度会升高，到时候我们就是完全不排放碳，可能也没用，扛不住太阳的热量。也有的科学家说可能5亿年左右，地球就无法生存了。人类还是很有危机感的，现在就在给自己找第二家园，各种备用计划了。按照人类这种科技进步的速度，一种情况是我们肯定可以成功，另外一种就是在成功之前，我们的科技带来了巨大的杀伤力，我们自己走到了尽头。

  这本书里的很多想象图，真的跟《宇宙有道理》是一样的啊，非常像，你们是请了同一批人吗？总之就是看着非常亲切。每一小节都有配图，这是最大的优点。还有就是很多卫星以及探索器的名字，都是有来源的，看这个认识了不少人名。对了那个2029年可能跟地球相撞的小行星的名字Apophis是埃及一个代表破坏的神，作者说希望这个不要成真啊。

  作为中国治史的习惯，我们已经习惯为尊者讳。在这些名伶当中，好像只有余叔岩抽大烟是被大家公开的。其他人虽然也有此恶习，但似乎都逃离了大家的记忆。

  为了让现在人，尤其是现在的年轻人真正远离毒品，我们也该客观的认识和评价当年的大烟瘾问题。

  更何况，经常被大家提起的余叔岩抽鸦片，却并没有从正面去介绍。而总是说这位大家，总是夜半时分才来精神，吊嗓子，训徒弟都是半夜。不提余先生抽大烟，也无从谈起孟小冬拜入名门。
