  读这本书前正好读了nature review genetics上测序帮助因果推断的综述，和书中内容有很多契合。从双生子研究到测序，对基因的认识不断加深可能会推翻之前的结果。gwas和基因环境交互，甚至表观遗传的ewas微生物mwas都可能对现有结论有影响。。。而这部分数据的统计分析方法其实没有完全跟上。。有很多有趣的问题。很好的书。

• 勤奋而自恋的读书人

  辛先生是勤奋认真的读书人，书评、书序、读书笔记写得很下功夫；转述前辈学人一些零星教诲也很有价值。这本书里觉得有收获的是《谈谈怎样学历史》《史记的体例与历史研究——以六国年表为例》《不暇亦学——读郑天挺西南联大日记》《司马迁的故事后语》。

  1.关于读书法。他总结自己喜欢的读法，是“读自己想读的书，用自己觉得有意思的方式去读”，总结师长读书治学的方法有史念海先生的“读书得间”，和黄永年先生的“不求甚解”P2—3。

  2.关于学习历史。一是主要方法就是读书。二是先读现代学者通贯的概述性书籍，强调这些书“要以一种通贯的眼光，贯穿古今，挖掘并把握历史内在脉络”。推荐了翦伯赞主编的《中国史纲要》、钱穆的《国史大纲》、吕思勉《吕著中国通史》和宫崎市定的《中国史》。然后随兴趣读现当代史学著述（比如人物传记）。三是阅读古代史书。建议从《通鉴纪事本末》等“纪事本末”性著述入手，然后是《史记》和《汉书》。

  3.“读古人书，须识其义例”（清人钱大昕语）

  4.黄大年先生讲，一个好的学者，或者说真心向学的学者，应当努力做到十八般武艺样样精通，该用什么，就拿出什么，这才能真刀真枪地上战场，而不是自己师心自造一个模式，逮着啥都死乞白赖地往里套。P143

  5.中国大陆的历史教育，具有两项比较明显的缺陷。一是施教的内容，往往是把研究的结论和得出结论的材料混同为一事，这样便使得很多人没有接触原始材料的兴趣，甚至根本没有这样的意识。二是向社会传授历史知识的人更强调用怎样不同于常人的视角来看待历史，用什么新奇的方法来研究历史，而忽略原始文献记载的重要性，轻视对基本史籍的阅读和思考。P187

  这本书最大问题就是编选很杂，读史和治史这个主题覆盖不了全部文章。可能辛老师太爱惜自己的文字，哪篇都舍不下吧。个人觉得《生不逢时》、《小城那吉镇》等几篇文字完全可以等到日后自己撰写自传时再用起来，放到这里大大降低了这本书的价值。

• 关于翻译

  原文硬伤很多，大概因为作者风格太过浪漫而天马行空，在考据方面反而做得不够严谨，也有客观条件的限制，据说当初冈仓天心身在美国，是因为加德纳夫人的请求而写了这本书，身边仅有的资料是一本《茶经》。相比之下翻译非常强大，而且能看出相当的工夫和诚意，对我而言译注比正文要更加有趣一些，译后记也值得一读。

  某些章节在我看来基本上是忽悠外国人的，涉及茶道的知识性内容则少之又少，就如译者所说的那样，冈仓天心不过是借着茶道书法自己对生命的看法而已——顺便向西方推销一下东亚文化。相比之下最喜欢的是第六章，浪漫感伤得来比较见真性情。

  有两个觉得奇怪的地方，所有“太阁”（丰臣秀吉）不知为何都写作了“太合”，另外作者说到周茂叔梦见自己乘着小舟进入荷花深处云云，我觉得指的应该是周邦彦的“小楫轻舟，梦入芙蓉浦”，而不是周敦颐。
